Sharon Garlough Brown is a seasoned retreat leader, spiritual director, and bestselling author of both the Sensible Shoes series and Shades of Light series of spiritual formation novels and study guides.
A graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary, Sharon has served on the pastoral staff of congregations in Scotland, Oklahoma, England, and West Michigan, where she co-pastored with her husband, Jack, for many years. She and Jack have now returned to the UK and reside near Dundee, Scotland.
In March 2013 her book Sensible Shoes was named one of television personality Kathie Lee Gifford's "favorite things," and in December 2018 An Extra Mile was awarded Christianity Today's "Fiction Book of the Year." Her award-winning children's book, Not Finished Yet, invites children and grown-ups alike to explore the spiritual practice of lament.
Her first volume of poetry, Echoes of Yes: Poems in Conversation with God releases in April 2027, and a new novel featuring the characters of Sensible Shoes releases summer of 2027.
